Review of Alien Romulus (4DX)

I watched in 4DX today. This is a pure Horror flick, not technically a Sci-Fi. And if not the exact remake of1979 Alien; yet, one would find every element of it, in it. And if I compare this with the Prometheus (2012), I would still say, I loved Prometheus more than Covenant or Romulus. For the reason, as introduction of new Alien characters (The Engineers), our makers, and further, the quest to reach the beginning; alas, not covered in detail about all these in its sequel viz. Covenant.

No doubt, Alien Romulus is spectacular in its making, but, only as a horror flick, and not as a Sci-Fi. The asteroid belt scene was beautifully captured. I always awaited the flick on the Engineers, their lives, their origin (not sure if exists); and then being amalgamated with the Alien series, along with David’s major role.

I can understand. As its director in the past has made major horror hits globally; thus, I think that aesthetics, too got painted in the Alien Romulus.

Isabela Merced has evolved with Sicario or Dora, and now this, Alien Romulus. And seems so as Cailee, with this flick, and maybe, she is the new Ripley of the Alien franchise in future, I presume.

Still, one who enjoys horror genre, would enjoy this. The 1979 Alien was an experiment that truly worked enormously. But, if with something alike Prometheus had been experimented more, because, I still think, Covenant wasn’t its sequel (as some say it is); and Prometheus requires one, about the origin of the Engineers; then that would be one of the bestest Alien franchise.

Further, in the Romulus, what was experimented till 90s, in part-II, III, IV; has just been revived in a better aesthetics. But again, amazing as a horror genre; and Not exactly as Sci-Fi.

All said and done, a fine watch. 😊

Review of The Marsh King’s Daughter

If Jacob thinks that abducting/kidnapping, or let’s even presume as what he stated, that Beth factually ran away with him; STILL, there’s a difference between getting stuck on an island like Blue Lagoon wherein the ‘girl also felt home and not abducted’; comparing to, what Jacob did with Beth on the Marsh island, who felt every single day being caged, chained; yet, for the love of her daughter, didn’t leave him! Difference!

More than Helena, it’s Beth who’s actually a true hero in the flick. And honestly, one thing people should understand that, any forceful relationship would neither last, and eventually leave destructive, dastardly effects!

There’re so many things in the Marsh island one can do. And it’s indeed a privilege in the modern times if you own such a big space; comparing to how people are living in the compact cities which are no less than a HUT!

And all of that because of what? To have a bloodline! That’s it! In few years/decades, it would all be Synthetic and Artificial, made in the Labs. And I know there’re many people who are having mindset alike Jacob about/for descendants! That if not the daughter/son, then the granddaughter/son. But all for what? Merely because you want to show to the World & to yourself, that you’ve DESCENDANTS! That’s it!

And as I’ve always mentioned, people around World who always talk about ‘in the name of FAMILY’ in modern times; behind the scenes, they are the worst enemies of the World. Just look at the corrupt people or even the terror sympathizers; they would always be talking about: by the family, for the family, and of the family. I think we’ve transformed the meaning of the term Family, with self-centered, obsession, greed, about the descendants/dynasts to rule! But how would someone be able to distinguish in few years/decades about synthetic beings and natural ones, as the Singularity would be achieved, in the age of multiple Species! Then, would such views even worth?

All said and done: a good watch! 😊
