Review of Endless Love (1981)

Technically, the reason why this isn’t endless love, but, endless infatuation & obsession, I’ll explain!

Sometimes in life, we invent problems. David could’ve waited for 30 Days, yet, the insecurity, which is obviously understandable, lead to so many complications later. Whereas, if Jade’s parents were so liberal to allow their young daughter & her boyfriend in their own house, in front of them, and that too near their own bedroom, live & roam almost naked; thus, I’ve no idea that instead of sitting together and making both, David & Jade realize about their academic compulsions/responsibilities/commitments; why it was chosen to just separate them one day out of nowhere; is unfathomable.

Whilst David becoming an unintentional arsonist, in merely few days of separation, displays more infatuation & obsession towards Jade, than the true love. This isn’t endless true love. As in love, you touch or not, you talk or not, you meet or not, you remember or not; yet, the love remains endless. And infatuation, obsession ain’t true love.

Neither Jade ever inquired about David, irrespective of she receiving his mails or not; whereas, David was almost stalking her without even realizing it that his own actions did more harm to him, rather than to anyone else. But as we go, the marketing strategy of West, from fructose filled ultra processed food to rather understanding the dilemmas of any person, put that person to sleep; alas, the same happened with David too.

This is the genre somewhat similar to Vanilla Sky. Whereas, no doubt Jade’s beauty could’ve turned any young man insecure. But again, that’s not true love, forget about being endless love!

And not only at that age I would say; but at any age, not everyone can understand the meaning of true endless love!

All said and done, a good watch! 😊
