I’ve one question to the protagonist Donny the Comedian. If indeed it’s a true story; then is the Netflix series also a result of the comfort or support given by the writer whom the protagonist himself, accused him of drugging & raping? If yes, then the protagonist Donny had some really moral issues by not taking action against him, and limiting the action against Martha only, and somehow now wants to come under the good books of everyone, by merely portraying himself as being Pansexual, which the media would of course love. Guide me if I’m wrong, or at least correct me, so that I can amend this Review.
Secondly, I’m not understanding under which archaic provision or law the London police couldn’t take any action against Martha for stalking? It is absolutely not necessary that only in a case of threat message in case of stalking the investigative agencies can take action. From social media to physical stalking, if complaint filed, then easily, an action can be initiated; thus, I’ve no idea which archaic law was being cited and that too in London! And if the action had already been taken, then this wouldn’t have unnecessarily even stretched for two years. As neither Martha was his legal wife, who can call anyone anytime, nor a legal partner.
Thirdly, both Martha & Donny were infatuated to each other. Thus, saying only Martha had a one-sided affair, was technically wrong. Maybe, Donny knew that he couldn’t get anything from Martha, but had hope from Darrien his rapist (as being contended in the viral video); thus, decided to make complaint against the former, and ended up forging alliance with the latter.
I didn’t understand the series both from the Donny’s & from Martha’s perspective except that one had mental breakdown & was obsessed with toy reindeer due to child trauma, and another had moral breakdown. And regarding Donny’s jokes, I ask the protagonist Donny only, did you laugh? Maybe my fault as I don’t understand jokes.
All said & done, a fine watch! 😊
