Between Evolution vs. Edicts, most of the times the former is the ultimate truth, as perceptible evolution hardly alters in any perceivable evolutionary cycle, whereas edicts keep getting to be interpreted differently every day, month, year, and the same interpretations won’t even last a decade, unless being circulated misinterpreted for inappropriate reasons.
The Glory is one such series, which I say, has walked on the path of embracing the above fact in mind that usually, evolutionary traits hardly alter in any perceivable evolutionary cycle; and thus, I personally got captivated with the series.
Further, thanks to the likes of pretentious modern Academia in the hands of both modern left/liberal & traders, who left no stone unturned to bring Academia to be defined now under the definition of the first para, whilst at the same time making sure concurrently that the said concept becoming an offensive doctrine too, in narratives.
The game of GO being metaphorically defined in the series as the one wherein the protagonist takes the revenge in silence. But if we closely discern, the protagonist (Moon Dong-eun) was a passive observant in her genuine revenge, rather, playing king Leonidas, and further this approach being a passive observant instead of wanting to be an influencer or famous, made her to accomplish to end eighteen years of inflicted torment, dousing not only her own agony, but also of many, resolving what was once considered unresolvable.
I would admit the flow of the series was as lucid as reserved. And whether Dong-eun’s herself or her younger version Jung Ji-so or Park Yeon-jin, the story was knotted in a way that it would be hard to forward anything. The script being a young girl being severely bullied (along with many others) by some of her batchmates, ends up taking revenge after eighteen years.
Characterization matters. As if in case the correct Lego pieces are not interlocked properly, then the game seems ought to have been played with pressure & not with passion. Thus, every character in the series was rightly interlocked.
BTW, rather having revenge
with an or mere some individual(s), try having it like a passive observer with
the evolutionary traits in general without try to being a protagonist. It might
not alter or reverse anything at the inception level, but such for a time being
could be mitigated! Further, solution always lies in the past, not in the future.
All said & done, a good watch. 😊
