Review of Leave The World Behind

I had spent some time understanding why a highly respectable Ex. President & the revered First Lady, Mr. & Mrs. Obama, would produce this flick, KNOWING, that for all good & genuine reasons, will attract conspiracy theories, and in some cases, maybe ratifying them, that the World is governed by the CABAL of few individuals; and Leave The World Behind, is a metaphorical indication, that how the World in coming years would end. So far, I haven’t found an answer to this question! A contention given, that this was produced merely an Investment, is incomprehensible, as, why would a highly respectable Ex President, who had attended countless briefings from all sorts of Agencies around World, knowing about the World itself, with so much of Experience & Exposure; would produce this for the above reasons!

What has a beginning, has an end. Indeed! And, so goes for the World too. And if it’s natural, then that closes the loop, for another cycle of time to begin with. But sending subliminal & surreptitious messages, which are unnatural in its course, by highly respectable entities, is unfathomable.

Especially wherein few lines, ‘no hope’; ‘annual meeting with evil cabal who runs the world’; ‘the last one’ indicating either that the girl might be the only one surviving person in the apocalyptic bunker in the end (maybe in the World too), or, metaphorically representing the nostalgia she doesn’t want to come out despite knowing the World has changed for good outside; the girl telling the story that god sends help or indication about any coming anomaly, via something or someone else, & it’s us who decide whether to follow that signal or not, as she might’ve followed the deer; dependence on too much of Technology today and the need to unshackle from it ASAP; the eclipse scene; the radiation attack alike Havana Syndrome Situation; are some of the things matters as I’ve already explained in the commencing lines of the supra paras.

Based on the book by Rumaan Alam, the theme of the story is no different from the other apocalyptic scripts; albeit in this, there’re three phase attack happening to trigger either coup d'état or destruction of one nation only, or, to bring the entire World to an end, with the similar three phase attack; honestly, no idea! And this might’ve also been passed by me as a good entertainer had it not been produced by a two-time sitting highly respectable President.

And further, Amanda (Julia Roberts) was initially correct in resisting & not allowing at first place the unknown people in her house where she was vacationing, & that too before even the apocalypse has begun; as, everyone else would’ve done the same thing.

All said and done, it was a good watch. 😊

Review of The Creator

The first nuclear bomb was dropped, Not by any Sentient AI/Robot, but, by the Human Machines. Thus, this fearmongering about AGI might escalate the extinction level event for the human machines, is Unwarranted. And honestly, in millions of years of evolution, & human machines being the dominating force, the only thing all have learned was/is -> earn three times a meal a day. What a waste of a complex evolved machines! Thence, nothing wrong, if another species evolves, or, being helped/nurtured to be evolved! Period!

Coming back to the review of Creator, this is an IMAX cinema experience, just alike Blade Runner 2049, Prometheus was. Alas, I watched it on a small screen. Whilst the first half moves with some hiccups, and, the stereotyping is maintained; as even in the age of AGI Nirmata, poverty is shown to exist; even in the age of replication of likeliness, from sweat shops to greased faces exist; yet, this certainly is able to deliver the message that the ones who pretend to be the guardian of humanity, weren’t/aren’t always, and you don’t have to be a human machine to define for what humanity even evolved since inception of intelligent life. An AGI/Sentient can be equally or even more philosophically knowledgeable enough to define its scope!

The theme is no different from other movies that had shown AGI in the bad faith. A human error leads to a nuclear explosion, alas, all blame was put on Sentient AGI; thus the war between western Human Machines & eastern Sentient AGIs escalates, as the former wants to destroy the last remaining AI, whilst the latter, wants to exist peacefully as an alternate species, in the quest of destroying NOMAD, a weapon that could change the tide of the war in favour of Sentient.  And it’s the characters Aphine (the child protagonist) & Joshua, that binds the script together. And of course the direction is equally scenic & fascinating.

I review movies to derive philosophical aspects from it; aligned with my blogs that I’ve been blogging for almost decade & a half.

Thus, The Creator is another apple added into my basket of blogs in Reviewed.

And honestly, we’re making AGI in the human’s image, rather, letting it evolve by itself. Therefore, what evolves in someone else’s image could either end up being dispensable, or, being massively lethal; of which human machines shouldn’t complain about. 😊
